ASEE/NSF Corporate Research Postdoctoral Fellowship

We at the American Society for Engineering Education are excited about a program we have recently launched, with generous support from the National Science Foundation, aimed at expanding industrial research opportunities for companies and postdoctoral engineers engaged in scientific research.  We believe your members, corporate contacts, and other constituents may greatly benefit from this program.

The ASEE/NSF Corporate Research Postdoctoral Fellowship for Engineers Program will allow 40 highly qualified recent engineering Ph.D. recipients to work with research-performing U.S. companies on one-year fellowships. It offers $50,000 toward a one-year stipend and $6,500 for health insurance costs; the host company will provide just $25,000 toward the stipend.

That means each program Fellow will receive a minimum of $75,000 while spending a year conducting meaningful, innovative research at a leading-edge corporate laboratory. It also means that host companies have the opportunity to attract top engineering talent at a small fraction of the usual cost.

More than 30 host companies, both large and small, have already registered their interest, and more than 60 positions have been posted.

We hope the Women in Engineering ProActive Network will help ensure the program’s success by letting your members and constituents know about this excellent opportunity.  We have attached a program announcement for your convenience.

You can find out more about the ASEE/NSF Corporate Research Postdoctoral Fellowship for Engineers Program at https://aseensfip.asee.org/, or by contacting me directly.

Ph.D. Innovation Program at Dartmouth College

Thayer School of Engineering at Dartmouth seeks candidates for its first-in-the-nation Ph.D. Innovation Program. This program combines doctoral studies and research with the entrepreneurial training needed to turn research discoveries into marketable applied technologies. Even before graduating, one student in the program launched mPedigree, an organization to establish drug supply chain protection systems for the developing world.
