Future Engineers Summer Camp (FESC)
Hosted by the Women in Engineering Program at The Ohio State University, the Future Engineers Summer Camp (FESC) is a five-day, non-residential summer program for young women who will be entering the 8th grade in the fall following the camp. FESC participants explore concepts in engineering through a variety of fun, hands-on activities led by Ohio State engineering faculty and graduate students, as well as area engineering professionals. Participants also visit several businesses and corporations to learn more about what engineers do in the “real world.” FESC 2009 was made possible through the generous support of The Scotts Miracle-Gro Company
FESC 2010 will run from Monday, August 2nd, through Friday, August 6th. There are 30 spaces available in the program, and admissions decisions will be based on the following materials: (a) personal statement, (b) grade report, and (c) a teacher recommendation form completed by the applicant's current math or science teacher.
The online application system for FESC 2010 will open on Wednesday, January 6th. Application and participant fee information will be available in January. To receive an e-mail notification when the online application system opens, contact Ruth Friedman at friedman.194@osu.edu.
