Volunteer Opportunities

Day on Campus

This program has been put in place to introduce The Ohio State University to prospective women engineering students. You act as host for a visiting high school student. The visit is arranged around your schedule and your guest's interests. Take her to your classes (if time allows) and show her around campus.

Phone-A-Thon

Winter and Spring quarters WiE holds a Phone-a-thon. At that time, student volunteers call each high school woman who has been accepted to the University for Autumn quarter and is interested in engineering. The engineering student offers to answer any questions the young woman may have about Ohio State and the College of Engineering. Instructions and refreshments are provided while you talk with prospective students. THIS IS ONE OF OUR MOST EFFECTIVE RECRUITING TOOLS FOR WOMEN ENGINEERING STUDENTS - AND A LOT OF FUN!!

Visiting High Schools

Share your college experiences with your high school or an Ohio school. During academic breaks the WiE program organizes will set up a day for you to visit your high school and share your information about Ohio State and Engineering. Throughout the year the WiE program also visits Ohio schools to promote Engineering. Volunteer for the local school visits and we will contact you about the dates and locations of the visits and you can pick the days you would like to volunteer. This is a great opportunity for you to help increase the number of women studying engineering!!
