Each summer, the College of Engineering hosts a week-long workshop called “Engineers in Motion” for male and female students who have completed the 9th or 10th grade. The program introduces participants to fundamental skills that improve their chances for success in engineering courses and their future careers through hands-on activities. Students will live on campus during this week. For more information visit http://wie.eng.ohio-state.edu/EIM.htm or contact WiE outreach at wieoutreach@osu.edu Glenda La Rue at (614) 688-4137 or la-rue.10@osu.edu
A Premier Partnership - Sponsor of Engineers in Motion
In 2000, Honda and OSU embarked upon the premier partnership—an unparalleled, bilateral collaboration between university and industry that spans initiatives in education, research and public service. Today the Honda-OSU Partnership positively impacts diverse audiences of students, faculty, public and private sector practitioners, and the transportation industry as a whole. Please click the Honda Partnership Program logo below to visit the website.
The WiE programs offers the engineering women coming to OSU in the autumn to be paired with an upper class engineering student and a professional engineer. This pairing allows incoming students the opportunity to have someone to ask all of the many questions they have throughout their years at OSU, and the opportunity to meet other incoming students through the Peer Mentor activities. Applications are sent out to all women accepted to engineering at OSU in the spring, so watch the mail if you are interested!
